Start with MOX
How do I install MOX?
Installing on Windows
Download the ZIP from the Download page, extract everything into a folder and start Mox.exe from there. Do not start it from inside the ZIP and keep all the files in the folder together: they are needed to run it. MOX is a Windows program. You do not need an account to use it on your PC.
First start and updates
On first start MOX asks for language and look, helps you turn on Arena logs and lets you choose what to share. Each kind of sharing is a separate choice, and you can finish everything later. When a new version comes out MOX updates itself and checks that the downloaded file is the right one before installing it.
If Windows blocks startup
The Download page has the steps and an alternative route with the INSTALLA-MOX.bat and MOX.bat files. Do not turn off Windows protections. If MOX still does not start, write down the error message and open a Support ticket with your MOX and Windows versions. Do not post your Player.log on GitHub: it contains data from your Arena account.
How do I connect Arena?
Turn on Detailed Logs
In Arena open Options → Account and turn on Detailed Logs (Plugin Support), then restart Arena if asked. Open MOX, then Arena, sign in and reach the home screen. MOX reads the logs on your PC: turning them on shares nothing and does not send the file anywhere.
Follow a match
Open the Counter before entering a match. It shows only what can really be seen: of your opponent’s cards it knows only the revealed ones. It works with all sharing turned off and without an account.
I see nothing, zero or «paused»
If nothing appears, check that Detailed Logs is on and play a new match. For your collection go back to Arena’s home screen and press Refresh or Check again. If gold, gems or wildcards are not known yet, MOX shows them as unknown, not as zero. If the Counter goes «paused», it means it is not sure of the count: do not trust the earlier numbers and wait for it to catch up or for the next match. If it happens often, open a ticket and tell us when it happened.
How do I update MOX?
Version and what’s new
Your installed version is shown in the MOX Manager. What’s new in each version is in Updates. To install MOX from scratch use the Download page; after that, MOX updates itself.
If the update does not arrive
Press «Check for updates» in Options → Diagnostics. If the website says the download is not available, try again later or open a ticket with your installed version and the message. Do not install an old package to avoid an update.
Use Draft
How do I start a Draft?
Before the first pack
Turn on Detailed Logs and open the Draft Assistant before entering the event. It works with Premier, Traditional, Quick Draft and Pick Two; for some sets and formats the statistics may be less complete. MOX does not touch Arena and does not pick for you: check that the set and format in the window are the right ones.
Pick Two and resuming
In Pick Two MOX rates the two cards together; it does not simply take the top two of the list. If you close MOX halfway and reopen it, check that the pool shown is your Draft’s: picks made while MOX was closed may be missing.
If the win rate is missing
A missing percentage does not mean 0%. With a brand new set or few games played, statistics may not exist yet. In that case MOX keeps recommending based on your pool’s colors and curve. Sharing your Drafts has nothing to do with it: statistics arrive even if you share nothing.
How do I read scores and percentages?
MOX score and percentages
The MOX score goes from 0 to 110: it is not a win percentage. It combines how strong the card is and how much you need it right now, for example in your colors. The GIH percentage tells how often players who had that card in hand won in 17Lands games: it is useful, but it does not guarantee that picking it will make you win.
Other numbers you see
When the GIH percentage is missing, MOX can estimate it from another 17Lands percentage, the one for games where the card was in the deck: it is an estimate, so less precise. ATA shows the average position at which the card is picked: it is a hint, not a win percentage. Always also check how many games are behind a number: with few games the number is less reliable.
Colors, signals and limits
The recommendation takes into account your colors, pool strength, creatures and curve. For a hybrid symbol either of its two colors is enough, but the card’s other symbols are still required. Signals look at the strong cards still reaching you in packs: they are a hint, not certainty about what other players are doing. MOX does not promise you will win more: it is a help, the choice is yours.
How do I choose my final deck?
Compare the suggestions
At the end of the Draft check that the pool and the number of copies are right. MOX compares color pairs and can suggest up to three decks: usually they are different color pairs, not three different strategies in the same colors. Do not add cards you did not pick.
40 cards and lands
Choose 16, 17 or 18 lands: in a 40-card deck that leaves 24, 23 or 22 other cards. Check creatures, curve, lands for each color and special lands. MOX prefers strong cards you can cast in your colors; if cards are missing, it can add one from a third color with a few lands. It does not try every off-color bomb if you already have enough spells in your colors.
Watch your mana costs
MOX’s mana calculation has a limit: it checks that the colors are there, but it does not assign each symbol to a different land. So cards with two or three symbols of the same color can look easier to cast than they are. It does not account for lands that enter tapped and uses a simplified mulligan rule. Its percentages are an estimate, not the real probability in Arena. If you have many cards with demanding costs, check the lands yourself.
Data and privacy
Where does the data come from?
17Lands statistics
Card statistics come from 17Lands, when available. With version 2.11.8 MOX downloads them directly from 17Lands. In the Draft window always check the set, format and date of the data: not every card and format has statistics, and a missing statistic does not count as zero.
Statistics and sharing are separate
To receive statistics you do not need to share your Drafts. Turning off Matches, Draft, Research or decks in your account stops what you share, but MOX still goes online to update itself and download statistics. If statistics do not arrive, recommendations continue with colors and curve.

What do I share?
Four separate choices
In Options → Data and privacy you find Matches/Meta, Draft, Research and Decks in your account. They are separate choices and all off when you install MOX. Signing in with Google or Discord does not turn on any sharing. Research collects the matches played after your yes, to study cards and decks; for now it does not give advice.
Stopping, deleting and copies on your PC
Turning a choice off stops new uploads, but does not delete what was already shared. For Matches and Draft use the deletion command in Options; Research has separate commands to withdraw consent and to delete. In your account you can export and delete everything or a part. The copies on your PC remain yours. How long we keep data and how to exercise your rights is on the Privacy page.
Private Support
Open a ticket from the website, with or without an account. Without an account you get a secret link: keep it and do not share it. Write your MOX version, what you expected and the message you saw. Screenshots and the diagnostic package are optional: look at what they contain before attaching them. Arena’s log (Player.log) goes into the package only if you choose it. Never write passwords in tickets.
